  1. Most of the 1917 Enfield barrels that I have seen in the Midwest were bent at one time and straightened back out- These were all two groove barrels and look straight and brand new-Unfortunately if you look about halfway down there is a shadow where the barrel was bent ! So beware ! I heard that many years ago A company named Bricklee Trading in California bought all of these barrels and a couple tons of 1903 Barrels from the Marine corps who thoughfully bent them all to demil them !
  2. In the Mid-1970's Winchester sold off many Johnson rifles and boxes of new parts, incomplete rifles, etc., There were many rifles that came numbered like this one, as they were parts from rifles that were never assembled ,spare parts-- I know R.J. Perry assembled many Johnson rifles from his parts piles, And all of them had handstamped serial numbers like this !
  3. I don't remember where I saw this years ago, but came across it by chance this evening-- Look up TRW Low Maintenance Rifle, uses many Johnson -Armalite attributes as well as a copy of the Russian DP 28 gas system, as well as HK -MKB Roller locking lugs-- Link: To get you started ! http://world.guns.ru/assault/usa/trw-lmr-e.html
  4. Anyone have any early Original Colt 601 parts for sale? I am doing a Colt 601 build and need a chrome 601 slickside bolt carrier, Bolt catch early trigger parts--- I know this is a Johnson Page but the Colt 601 is the ultimate grandchild of the Johnson Series of Rifles and LMG'S Let me know what you might have for sale or trade ! i
  5. That would make a lot of sense; I have had a lot of Garand ,Carbine and some 45 auto parts that were chromed by Springfield Armory in their rebuild programs-- bullet guides on m-1 Rifles, where the tolerances was wrong, and other trigger group parts hard chromed to fix the incorrect tolerances-- I was thinking about that trunnion and I think I removed it from a terrible condition barrel in the 1980's --
  6. I have a set of spare barrel parts I just decided to sell on an internet site ! I have had them for a long time and decided to sell them ! Anyway these parts have been kicking around one of my spares boxes forever, The trunnion was heavily cosmolined and had caked on grease on it-- When I scrubbed it off I found the outside to have been hard chromed, it shows wear and rubbing on it, But just to the surface finish-- The finish on the inside of the trunnion is or appears to be original parkerize green-- Anyone ever seen another trunnon like this?? Just wondering if anyone had any information on who when or where this may have been done, and Why? Maybe to reduce friction ??
  7. Also PM'ed I need a barrel !
  8. Trying to e-mail you but your mailbox is full!

  10. Anyone see what happened at the last Tulsa Gun Show??? Please follow this link! I was ripped a few times at Midwestern shows; always thought ir was a Kane County Sheriff's police officer that had a table next or near mine !! Well it was and I saw the hidden video of him stealing a $1500.00 ART scope off of my table !! why a Hidden video?? The ATF and FBI Public Integrity unit had him under surveillance !! he got like 8 years in Jail on a plea bargain for the criminal acts he was perpetrating ! Here is the link ! http://newsok.com/three-arrested-as-new-video-surveillance-system-foils-thefts-at-tulsa-gun-show/article/5410199 Hopefully these three stooges will get a long term in jail to think about things because it seems this non-sense has been going on for a while ! Looks like someone stole two collectable Henry rifles and an 1866 Winchester in November; worth a whopping $170,000.00 !!
  11. Anyone out there own this rifle? Know who has it ? Please let me know !
  12. Never heard of R.J. Perry and associates in Park Ridge Illinois?? Count your blessings !! Sold more questionable items than anyone else I ever saw; just knowing the goof caused me more problems than I care to talk about !! ---- I saw the originals and also saw the repro's and I know for a fact that he sold a bunch of the repro's to Kent Lamont when Kent lived near the Midwest ! This was over 35 years ago when Johnson stuff was almost valueless ! The bipods were made to fit on Class three guns that the bipods were missing on. and most were in those days ! It was my understanding the bipods were mostly lost or thrown away by users in the user and testing field ! At one time you could buy dealer sample 1941 Johnson LMG's for real reasonable (cheap) money but the bipods were missing and most needed cleaning or repair-- A lot of them had the aux. sear block that holds the bolt open on full auto ground down or sawed off; for whatever reason, the parts to repair these guns were purchased from Numrich and they had plenty of the parts !! The really poor and very rusty condition m1941's were cut up for parts kits and sold through Armex-- this was in the early 1980's if I remember correctly ! Peter Wilke in Canada had a bunch of 1941 rifles, M1941 LMG's that were cut for parts in the same time period-All of the parts were rusty under the wood line and the M1941 LMG's were all rusted in the buttstock area and most of the buttstock's were frozen onto the recoil tube ! I worked on a bunch of the M1941 LMG parts kits, and believe it or not, the parts kits were a better way of getting most of the parts to repair firing guns at the time, All of them were heavily used with little or no maintenance, most would not fire in semi or auto fashion !! I personally refinished at least 20 LMG's and all were lightly to moderately pitted, when they were shipped the repro bipods were installed on them- I liked the simplicity of the LMG's but reliability was always a problem as I remember, especially feeding from the 30 rd magazine!!
  13. For a REPRO Bipod?? Please !!
  14. I have decided to sell my Johnson rifle it is mostly a built up rifle with a another receiver on all the original parts from a B 44XX series rifle that had the receiver hacked up bad enough that I could not repair it, and chose another receiver instead --All parts are original and have original finish, only thing is a new operating spring so the rifle would function, barrel was shortened to 19 1/2 inches long ago, Front sight pins need to be refitted!! anyone from here will receive free shipping and a slight discount-- I am also open to offers! http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=469058430
  15. Just saw the auction starting on gunbroker for $500.00 ?? Be aware that that bipod is a high quality Repro that R.J. Perry from Park Ridge Illinois had made in the early 1980's, he sold most of them as originals ! JUST FWIW ! Don't be fooled !! The original bipods had better welding than this bipod has !! The original bipods had welds like that on a M3 greasegun; thin and distinct not rough and ground down!!
