Check that operating spring length
-
Howdy tinsoldier from another Tampa Bay area member. I'd be more than glad to take one of those bayonets off your hands for my JSAR since you have one extra.
-
One those stories that always happens to someone else. Nice score!

One on ebay - WWII US 1941 Johnson rifle bolt stop | eBay

Number 1 in the first section should be interesting since the background check doesn't always work for alerting the FFL. Who does the ATF go after when that happens?
-
Iternet

That mark is from the ejector. Should probably replace the recoil spring.

Howdy neighbor...If you're the same on the FAL Files
-
I looped a box end wrench over each handle of a FAL tool to get enough leverage to break mine loose. Also sprayed some screw loose/break free product down the top side and let it sit overnite. It was orange and had a strong scent.

Could you do a few with Farrah Fawcett holding a JSAR?
-
I always use BLO to clean. Goop it on, rub it in and wipe off. Repeat as you see fit.

So so sad...same feeling after seeing a G or K43 butchered.
-
About the same condition as mine. Always liked the look of a used gun.
-
I would say NOT an original...Plus the wrist on that stock looks too thin.
-
Sounds like even gun terminology is getting bitten by the PC bug. It's either hardware or the individual parts name to me.
-
The bolt doesn't appear to be locked. Is that because the barrel isn't correct as Mr Scott mentioned? Definitely wouldn't fire it until that's addressed.
-
That stock was mentioned in this thread.

Since jimbo doesn't know much about it, I'd be wary. $400 is a lot to spend not knowing if everything is cut/drilled correctly. If it were a new/old stock Joe Scott made, there'd be a JS stamped somewhere...under the butt plate I think.
-
If you own a FAL and own a buttstock tool, then that's what you use for the Johnson. I had to loop a box end wrench over each side of the handle for more leverage too. https://www.dsarms.com/p-13608-dsa-fal-buttstock-removal-combo-tool.aspx

Always good to see to these resurrected. Glad you didn't give up.

https://www.gunbroker.com/item/794135216 I think it bred with something in the woods up there.

Now that I've thought about this overnight, there was a thread about this from 2 years ago. Looks like the same gun with new paint.
-
Thanks to all!
-
Looks like a Krag buttplate.

Got one years ago and I think it's slightly different, but don't recall if it was from Sarco or Gunparts. I don't think there's as much of a pinch in the center. Mine is very U shaped and matches what came in the Johnson. This one is more lightbulbish. Repro??
