  1. Have you sold your Johnson lmg or considering it.  Is so contact me at dmlthree@aol.com or text 304-552-2920

    thanks

  2. Hi,

I saw your post regarding the value of a semi-LMG. I have been trying to gather all of the parts for the past few years. Am very close, but it has been a long haul.

I had purchased a 1941 Johnson from Brian about 2 months before he passed. I was trying to gather the funds to purchase one of his semi LMGs at the same time. He was selling them for about $8,500 and that was with an original bipod, bipod attachment for the barrel, front foregrip and bolt and rear bolt, and three magazines. He used a Joe Scott built magazine feed assembly.

Did Brian's gunsmith build your semi LMG? I have just started to send the parts to him for the build. Trying to get an LMG rear bolt, but the gunsmith can modify the 1941 Johnson rear bolt to work.

Do you happen to have any spare parts that would be for sale?

       Best regards,

       Larry

      Hi,

Wanted to add that I may be very interested in buying yours if you get to that point.

         Best regards,

I do not have any spare parts, I find that odd that you claim he was selling them for that price with an original bipod, if you are referring to the spring loaded folding model and not the rigged BAR bipod as the spring loaded originals usually go for over 2k alone, but thanks for the input.

      Hi,

It was with the original bipod and the original LMG bolt, front foregrip and Joe Scott manufactured magazine feed tray. Brian was a complete gentlemen and expert in the field. He did a lot to help collectors with information as well as a source for referrals for parts.

Brian was very generous with his time with me and many other collectors.

I am extremely familiar with the original bipod and other original parts. The fact that it would have been from Brian makes it that much more valuable.

Brian had three of these semis for sale at that time. Some slight variations. All priced in that range.

And of course, if Brian said they were original, they would be original.

         Best regards,

         Larry

  3. I have a semi auto Johnson lmg clone that I'm considering selling. I tried reaching out to Dr. Brian Alpert who was instrumental in helping me get the gun assembled but learned that he died last year. Since he's the only person I knew that actively sold these weapons at the Show of Shows in KY, I wanted to ask what these guns were typically going for now. I have a number that I want but before making a gunbroker listing, I want to make sure I'm in the right ballpark. As stated it's the gun, two mags, and a reproduction bipod. Any help would be appreciated. I'm not even fully seated on selling the weapon yet but I need information to help me determine how to proceed.
  4. I've seen one at the National USMC Museum in DC as well, I think I took a pic but I'll have to find it.
  5. I didn't see a forum with just pictures of the FSSF with the M1941 Johnson Auto Rifles so I figured I'd start a thread. I have a lot of other places im active on but I'll try to post any FSSF pics with them using the weapons here.
  6. Mr. Canfield, I will message you privately to discuss the details.
  7. Mr. Canfield, Is there any way you would be willing to take measurements of the sling and send some more detailed photos? I can provide my email if you don't mind, I had been trying to gather info for a company to make a reproduction for me but we never had an original to use as comparison. Also what is the sling? Was it a Dutch cavalry sling or its own entity? I cannot find any information about who made them or what they are designated.
  8. The US Canadian First Special Service Force used them heavily from 1943-1944. I need to be more active on this forum so I'll try to remember to post some pics in an album.
  9. I'm very late to the party but does anyone still have a line on one of these "Johnson Slings" or have additional information about them as to what they were, why the FSSF used them, etc?

  12. Taking offers on these Dror parts. I don't want any trades, and I'm not splitting any of these parts up, I need them gone. Open to Paypal. If I don't respond here send me an email at: se_puls@hotmail.com
  13. Awesome, thank you! I’ve just been trying to get a number since I have a couple of people interested.
  14. I have an Israeli Dror kit that I was originally going to make into a 1944 Model Johnson but am needing to part with it to secure funds for other expenses. I’m trying to gain a general value of the kit as well as find a buyer. Feel free to comment or email me at se_puls@hotmail.com
  15. Glad to hear from you Mr. Scott! I'm glad you are doing better, I sent you an email about the subject a little while back but was unaware of what was going on, I'll send another soon or will be giving you a call, whatever you'd prefer.
