  1. I have a Johnson rifle and my daughter has tuition payments coming up at her fancy, private, art college. So... For sale is a good example of the Johnson with a few glitches and a beautiful hard-to-find bayonet with a harder-to-find scabbard. This Johnson is chambered in .30-06. The serial number is in the "B" group with a properly mis-matched bolt, also in the "B" group. The finish is grayed, but uniform in color and pleasant to look at. The bore is about mint. The front sight's protective ears have been filed down; according to forums and literature this was often done in the field to prevent snagging on foliage. Sounds reasonable. Original sights do come up for sale on Ebay and Gunbroker. Some jerk had mounted a telescopic sight on this gun. There are four holes on top of the receiver that are now conveniently covered by a Numrich repro sight and base (originals do appear on ebay and sites ). The sight is a teeny bit loose at the 100 yard setting. There were three holes drilled into the left receiver; also for the telescopic sight. They have been artfully filled with screws that have had the screw heads filed down (see photos). Additional photos upon request. People who have examined the gun have declared it to be fully functional but I have not shot it. If you plan to shoot it, see a gunsmith just to be safe. FFL or C&R required. Three day non-shooting inspection period. Shipping is via USPS/Priority Mail, insured. The shipping weight will be about 12 pounds. Calculate accordingly to your zip code and add insurance costs. Buyer pays shipping costs (insured) if the item is returned. $4500.00. Thanks for looking. Shelly 304-876-1925 Shelhfisch@aol.com
