  1. Hi, I hope this is an appropriate way to approach you. I saw a reference on a feed that stated you had reshaped a sporter stock to fit a miitary butt plate. Is that something you would consider doing to my stock? I am afraid I lack the required skill set and nerve. I hope this is an OK method to approach you. Thanks for any help. Gleal

  2. Hi , I read with great interest a reference from member m48tanker about his ability to reshape sporter stocks. That is exactly what I am interested in having done to my sporter. It cam with original military barrel and a deluxe barrel. I purchased an original butt plate but do not have the nerve or skill set to fit it properly, I am new to this forum and am unsure how to contact an individual with questions. I am hoping you folks can connect me to M4tanker and that he in turn would be willing to try this project, and fort how many$$ ? Thanks all
  3. Thanks Gentlemen, The barrel has absoloutly no other marks. Unlike my miltary barrel which is clearly marked. The barrel is the same configuration exactly except for the bayonet lug is missing and the single blade front sight. Did S&W make barrels in conjunction with winfield? As regards a bayonet Iwas wishing to find an original , but planning on finding a repro. I will keep looking. Thanks for the responses. As an aside I replaced the magazine cover spring last nite. Not as easy as U tube made it look.
  4. Good Morning Joesepoh,

I am a new member and 1 mos old Johnson 41owner. Do you still have any butt plates available for sale?

My only post so far is;  " new member question about barrel and bayonet." Its a question about a second barrel with a single blade site,  I got with my 1941. its  got an S and a W in a circle on the blade site. Just curious.

If you do have a butt plate or info about ones location I.d really appreciate it. Thank You

  5. This is the barrel sight marking I mentioned. It looks to me like the Smith and Wesson trademark. Otherwise the barrel is approx 22 in. long with no bayonet lug. In 30-06 cal. No other markings I can see. Any one with some info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  6. Thanks Ed, Im afraid Sarco is not taking any back orders, Meaning I guess no more manufactured. Numreich had them a while ago ... no more. Also Sportsmans Guide use to sell them but no longer. Any thoughts on my extra barrel? thanks for your response.
  7. Hello New member and new owner of a Johnson Automatic. Probably like most new guys [i'm 61] I am trying to locate a replica bayonet. All the real ones I have watched have zoomed over 500 $ I was given a sporter barrel with the rifle which has a circle with an S and a W superimposed in the circle which is located on the side of the single blade front site. Any ideas what this is? Thanks I'm certainly glad to have joined.
