Posted July 9, 2010 · Report post I'm new to the 1941 Johnson, having just purchased my first. It appears to have been "restored" at some time. It is in military configuration with a correct barrel and fair if pitted rifling. There is no bolt catch. It has been re-parkerized and exterior looks very good but not with the original finish. The stock fits well and looks correct but appears to be a replacement because of it's very good condition and lack of lamination behind the magazine. I have not taken the rifle apart, but it's serial number is 5835 and the bolt number appears to be 5685. Any information that the administrator could find on this rifle would be most appreciated. The information contained on this website together with B. Canfields book have given me many hours of pleasure. Thank you. Rich
