Part three of my trilogy

5 posts in this topic

I'm sure many of you remember my privious post with my two versions of my semi auto Johnson LMG. There was the 1941 version with the wooden forend, similar to the very early Johnson's in Canfield's book, and the 1944 version with the original foot and adapted Dror trigger assembly. Finally got around to making a forend and machining a bracket and adopting a BAR bipod to make it a complete 1941 LMG. I've included a few pictures - Thanks to Brian for his pictures to give me some ideas.

Very nice job. To make the bipod mount more authentic looking, weld a wing nut (and Parkerize it) to the attaching bolt like the original mount. Also, attach a type i or 2 sight base on the next one for more authenticity.

Very nice . I really want to get one of these . Oh , well . Maybe the economy will pick up so I can. I am proceeding with my pair of USMC Stinger conversions. I should have them done in a month . Then it's just waiting for the plate mfgs to come out with a run of semi-auto plates . Figure after they're done I might trade one of them for one of these LMG s.
