Good day all,

New to the forum and new owner of a Johnson rifle.

Im requesting any information you would have for serial number 400.

I purchased the rifle in Ontario, Canada.

Received (at JAMCO) from Cranston Arms - unlisted

Stock # unlisted

Bbl #848E

Hammer block #0365

Hammer #0619

Bolt #1181

Locking cam #220

Firing pin #847

Extractor #805

Magazine #0663

Transferred to Netherlands Purchasing Commission 10/1/41

This is an early JSAR which might have possibly made it to the Dutch East Indies before they fell to the Japanese later in December.

Had a chance to look at rifle.

Has replacement Bbl-1033E

Bolt looks like it's 1131 but it could be 1181. 

Im considering selling this Johnson.

could you give me an approximate value?

Very nice looking rifle....appears stock may have been refinished, other than that, appears correct military configuration. You should not have a problem selling other than it is possibly still located in Canada and your local laws. As for current value, I will let others on this forum hazard a guess. Best to start on the high end, see if you get any bites or nibbles, and then work your way down from there. The other option is to put it out to bid on an Internet Auction site, if that is a possibility.

Not easily.  The JSAR market is somewhat "soft" right now.
