ISO JLMG Bipod

4 posts in this topic

Next year the FSSF Veterans Association will be hosting the 73rd FSSF reunion in Rockford Illinois and I will be participating at the WWII re-enactment there as well. Our unit plans to go to the reunion and escort the veterans around the event and I am wanting my Johnson reproduction to be perfect so I am looking for either one of Mr. Scott’s reproduction bipods or event blueprints for the original bipods. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I know Mr. Scott is trying to get back into the parts game somewhat but I believe he is still recovering and/or still dealing with eye surgery. If the JLMG '41 photo is of your present piece, that bipod in the photo looks accurate to be the Johnson design. Joe ran a bunch of these bipods off some years ago and i don't know his plans for more. The BAR style bipods were actually used on early JLMG's, so they would still be considered appropriate.

My eyesight has improved enough that I will attempt to build several more bipods.  I found the old remaining pieces and parts, just derusted them and will start assembly soon.  I will have to contract out the welding.  Hopefully I can get one finished in Feb. with three more later.  My bipods are stamped "JS" under the feet and main part where hard to see.

Glad to hear from you Mr. Scott! I'm glad you are doing better, I sent you an email about the subject a little while back but was unaware of what was going on, I'll send another soon or will be giving you a call, whatever you'd prefer.
