  1. They say this guy passed away and was a big NRA member, and a lot of his weapons will be going to the NRA Museum. And this guy had 5 Johnsons...2 JSARs and 3 JLMGs! http://juliaauctions.net/auctions/233/div_...3.asp?pageREQ=1 I posted the 3 LMGs here: http://216.147.113.215/messageboard/index....?showtopic=1031

  3. The rifle is an obvious repark by looking at this picture. The magazine is a different color then the receiver. The magazine looks to be original park with some wear...it has the greyish-green patina color, which may have been coated in cosmoline. From what a few shops told me, they do not know how to completely disassemble the magazine, so they leave it alone...this kind of makes sense when you see pictures of refinished rifles and the magazine are the only part unfinished or still blued. The rest of your rifle looks recently parkerized, which most jobs now-a-days are done charcoal black. Even if the wood is refinished and the rifle reparked, it still is a great find for $3500. These rifles are just skyrocketing no matter what condition they are in. Post some better pics when you can.
  4. Yah that sounds like the same guy. I see him at the shows all the time, but that was the first time I saw him with a Johnson. All his rifles are near double regular price. Not sure why his prices are so high, he doesn't seem to be popular enough to charge so much.
  5. I have a sporterized Johnson that I bought not to long ago. GOD I love this thing! Glad I found this site! I would like to return it back to it's original state. Can someone please recommend to me a excellent shop that will parkerize my Johnson. Notably one that wont fade the stamps and etched lettering on the rifle, as well as do a complete take down of the rifle before parkerizing. I know some shops parkerize parts still together, I'd really like to steer clear from those shops. Thanks in advanced!
  6. Hi all! New guy here. Just had to add, I was at the Costa Mesa Gunshow down here in Southern California over the weekend. Saw two Johnson SAR for sale at two different vendors. One looked to have a cut barrel and had new park, looked like it was in very good condition...asking price was $6000. The other Johnson looked refinished as well and was in excellent condition...asking price, $12,000!!!
