In the article below, they mention S-1 to S-5 here. Was S-6 the next?

Only five Auto-Carbines are known to have been fabricated by Johnson Automatics. The tops of the receivers were roll-stamped with the standard M1941 Johnson rifle markings. The serial numbers were individually applied and had an "S" prefix (for "Sample") with the five numbers presumably running consecutively from "S-1" to "S-5."

Post some pics of the Beast.
Personally, I would keep the Johnson as it is rarer than a G41 or G43, if that's your holy grail.
Unless it's Totally FUBAR and a POS, that would be the only reason to part it out.

It starts with one and then snowballs.

What's the best way to go about making some cheeks for a Johnson Rifle that had them at one time but are long gone now and missing from the stock? Is Walnut the wood to use? Do you glue them on? Is there a pattern? Thanks.

About how many of the USMC issued Johnson Rifles are actually known to exist today, based on the serial number data in the book and USMC provenance?
I'll bet some are sitting in closets that haven't seen the light of day for 40 to 50 years.

Overall, what does it mean and what is known at this point?
Is S-6 listed in the log book?
Is S-6 a Sample Model for the M1941 Rifle?
Is S-6 a Scrapped receiver?
Is S-6 a Mystery?
