Data request on #5210 and #8081; more early parts

2 posts in this topic

Please provide the parts data on #5210 and #8081 if available.

Current parts:

#5210: barrel 0350K, bolt 5455, extractor 2834, hammer 855B, hammer block 590B, firing pin 8462, cam block 4126. Finish wear is consistent on all parts.

#8081: barrel 8081, bolt 8081, firing pin 5966, cam block 8081, other parts have NO mark. This gun has been reparkerized - suspect the "8081" parts have been renumbered, although I see no sign of removing old marks.

If these parts are not correct for these guns, and they help to match up someone else's, they are available for trade.

I just collected data on #B5045 and #B4290. I was a bit surprised to find part prefixes as high as J and K; only two parts between the two with B prefix. Anyone know if this is typical?

Rifle 5210 is basically original 'as produced' apart from the barrel. Is it now in .30-06 rather than the original 7mm?

Rifle 8081 looks like it has been rebuilt and force matched with re-stamped parts. Remember a certain dealer in the late 1960's and 1970's purchased a lot of surplus new parts and had the technology to mark them up in whatever way he wanted to.

In reference to you 'B' series rifles. Yes, the parts do go that high in sequence K and J parts are common.
