Serial number research

1 post in this topic

I have a 1941 Johnson, SN 6339 that I would like to get more information/manufacturing data on. The 9 on the serial number is off set from the other numbers. Is this common? The barrel has been cut back about 3/4 inches and the sight/bayonet lug moved back accordingly. I believe Mr. Scott at one time did some work on this rifle for an indivudual in California named Brown. The seller was honest about the cut back and the overall condition of the rifle and markings are good to very good. I am basiclly wondering just how many of the parts are still original to this rifle. Any information will be appreciated. Thanks.
