M96 Charger clips

3 posts in this topic

FYI:

The 1896 Swiss Mauser Rifle (M96) Charger Clips can be used with the M1941 Johnson Rifle, and the 1903 A1 and A3 Springfield Rifle. The clips designed for the 03 are not serviceable after refilling and loading the magazine. They were not meant to be used over and over and the tabs break off. The Swiss charger clips work great, can be used over (cartridges are held in place by spring action),

and there are no tabs to break.

I have lots of these from about 10-15 metal cans of 700 rounds each of FN-52 30-06 ball . Never knew what rifle they fitted , but they work well in USGI arms and in the Browning belt loaders.

That's what i use, for the Johnson and for a re-barreled .308 Mauser I have. The are great on the range, but when carrying them in a pouch or pocket they don't retain the cartridges as well as US clips with (decent condition) tabs. I pull a clip out and it has three or four rounds on it. But I'm working on a solution.
