Home made tool for removing mainspring tube.

4 posts in this topic

Well, after having to remove a couple of mainspring tubes I had a friend make me a couple of m15x40 threaded plugs.  I then installed them onto short and long rods. I can thread them into the mainspring tube from either end to remove or replace the tube.  It’s been working pretty well so far.  13568FF7-2E65-45D8-9D67-FB23DEC02021.jpeg926D6341-68D0-4514-85E0-C9F02F179ABB.jpeg8BC2419A-6FA8-4AC6-8405-C5DD1EC076EC.jpeg

That's slick. Well done ! Big thing is the tube is not damaged during install or removal. Makes you wonder how they were installed at the factory ?
