What US military actually used the M1941 LMG in WWII

In reading, I have come across pretty vague accounts of exact units that used the Johnson 1941 LMG. I would like to know the actual units that used them and where. Did the US army use them? Which airborne units or companies? Which battles? I know the Marines did but even those accounts are not super detailed. Maybe I just have not found the right archives yet.

I am wanting to display one with a mannequin in proper uniform. Any scholarly help will be greatly appreciated.

The US Canadian First Special Service Force used them heavily from 1943-1944. I need to be more active on this forum so I'll try to remember to post some pics in an album.
