I just used his conservation technique (boil in H2O, card with fine degreased 0000 steel wool, soak in kerosene) and wow did that make a difference. I wish I had taken before and after photos. Night and day difference and a bunch of original finish appeared from under mung and gack and the rust disappeared with the very light “carding” by the 0000 steel wool and plastic toothbrush.
