I have gotten to know a gentleman somewhat my senior, we chat quite alot at Poulins auction up here in Maine, he tells me of many years ago growing up in Jersey and visiting Sarco and for something like $12 picking out from barrels of oil pieces of Johnson’s and putting together a complete gun. He complained to the owner once that the magazine would jam up and not accept 30-06, John I think it was told him to grab another reciever or reach in with a pair of pliers and pull out a soldered wire that was shiming the mag for the shorter 7 mm rounds, that was it he said. I hate that story on account of the $12 dollar Johnsons, I plug my ears after the first time.
