Off Topic, but....what the heck....it is Fall!

....the wife went to the garden, after lunch, and returned with many late season items, fearful that a frost is immanent. Carrots, onions, celery, zucchini, green and red peppers, along with some tomatoes, squash, beets, and green and yellow beans. I looked at what she had, and asked if she had any garlic, basil and cilantro. She went out and got each. Wow! Most all the fixings for a batch of Minestrone soup! I set about cutting, chopping, dicing and found couple bags for frozen tomato sauce that she had put up. I found fresh garlic and got that minced. Slowly things were taking shape. I found a quart of frozen chicken broth that I had put aside and things really began to move forward. I cooked up some pasta to add to the batch. Before you know it, I had a large pot (8 QT) nearly filled to the brim with the steaming hot concoction. A little fresh ground salt and pepper, and it was ready. I can safely say, that on a cold, rainy,  Monday afternoon, that truly hit the spot! Bon appetite.
