I wonder what "deactivated correctly" Means on that side of the Pond? Could be barrel welded closed? Firing pin removed? It looks as if all of the parts are there. ​ At least they didn't say "Demilled" and receiver cut in three pieces..

The stock looks like the holes were joined to make room for the oiler and parts, Could be original, just altered..

Wow, A documented Johnson that saw battle in the Stan..,Pretty soon they will be popping up all over...

Makes you wonder why someone would strip down a receiver just to sell it alone, Flawed perhaps, definitely well used..?

I have never seen a shroud cut like that before, Has the Barrel been replaced? or does it have the original markings? Welcome by the way..

The Only reason I chose NOT to shoot a rifle is for Preservation purposes only. Only way to keep a Car nice is to keep it in the garage, Same with rifles...

Hello Captain Barkerka, Can you post a pic of the sight? Does it have the elevator with the leaf and does it fit tight in the dovetail?

PLease post a pic of it, I for one have never seen a plated JSLR.

The Bolt # doesnt mean it wasn't original to the rifle. If it were mine, I would collect and install all of the correct parts for it and leave it at that, maybe keep the condition from getting worse but not a full blown restoration. A qualified gunsmith couldtell you if it would be safe to shoot at that point. In other words, dont scrub all of the Patina off of it . Just a thought..

Wow, from the pics you posted it looks as if they used it for the Punt Pass and Kick contest.. Is the whole rifle in rough shape?

Post a pic of the Barrel guide collar and latch assembly, something is amiss. Does it happen when you cycle the barrel back by hand, In a recoil motion?
