  1. I'm on vacation till the end of March. I will list springs on ebay when I get back.
  2. This is my Miltech restoration with original and new barrel. Miltech made both headspace properly.
  3. If you want it the gun restored, call Miltech.
  4. I am pulling this off of Ebay at the end of this cycle. A better set is now listed.
  5. Have Miltech look at your gun. They specialize this sort of thing.
  6. If you want to see a real Johnson used in a movie, check out a film "Assembly" by Feng Xioogang.
  7. I have one of those Johnsons. It shoots really well.
  8. I looking for a 1945 LMG operating handle. Not the dror one.
  9. Bayonets are like snowflakes, no two are exactly alike. Most are a little shorter than 12 inches.
  10. When a barrel is too far gone, Miltech will make a reproduction barrel to use their Johnson restorations. Ed has made dozens of barrel from the stock of parts he has. A little while ago, I post a picture of a box full of locking lugs that was at his shop. Miltech has restored hundred of Johnson over the years.
  11. US small arms in world war II by Tom Laemlein has a lot of pictures too.
  12. There a few more pictures of the rifle and lmg
  13. The middle three are. The first and last is from the Canfield book. The pictures did not upload the order I expected.
  14. Torgerson might have had two carbines. The one he had at Bougainville has the vertical stripe on the buttstock. The one he has at Camp Pendleton (Canfield book) does not. The Pendleton carbine also has the block behind the rear sight.
  15. According to the book Paramarine! by Chris Mason, the Marine in the photo is Lieutenant Robert J Leonard holding Major Torgerson's carbine. On his chest is a medical kit stenciled "S14-075 First Aid Paratroop".
  16. I am looking for a LMG hammer.
  17. I am looking for a two of second type Dror rear sights.
  18. I have come across the operating handle on the left. Does anyone have any information as why it is different.
  19. What is the serial number, I might be interested in picking another one up.
  20. Does anybody have any definitive information about the unique mainspring follower that I have?
  21. The one on the right is a normal part and has not been cut. I posted the pictures of the mainspring follower and bolt stop plate because they are both unique and came from Winfield Arms when they liquidated their parts.
  22. Joe, I am wondering why someone at Winfield Arms would add a piece to the bolt stop plate ( the one on the left).
  23. Joe, I think you are right about it being a modified part. I got this and another odd part from Steve Kessler of WAC. I do not know why this part was made either. Maybe some one knows.
  24. I had the joy of picking up my restored JSAR from Miltech. I was able to visit the small shop where Ed Silva has been restoring military firearms for the last thirty years. He did a beautiful job on the restoration of the Winfield sporter that I found on Gunbroker. In addition to upgrading to an original stock and barrel, I also had Miltech make me a new spare barrel. Ed explained how he had to match different locking bushing to different bolts to make sure both barrels headspace properly. He let me take some pictures of his parts bins. Miltech does not sell parts, but they sure have enough to restore a few Johnson.
