  1. There seems to be more .303 than 8mm out there. Unfortunately bad place to start a build I have been setting on mine for several years hoping that someone will pop up needing one. If you ever come across someone needing more than 1 plz let me know. Ryche
  2. Thanks for the heads up. i just noticed a few days ago mine is cracked all the way across the top. Will check it out Ryche Does yours look to be new production? The image displayed really looks to be brand new. Ryche
  3. I have a watch on it but i'm only interested in the stock and maybe grips. So i will not be bidding against you Ryche
  4. Yes the one on the left is a DROR bolt. My next question is ... Is it .303 or 8mm? If .303 you will see an obvious size difference when looking at the bolt face. I had a .303 bolt in mine early on and it took awhile to figure out why it kept dropping cases on extraction . Once i figured that out then an easy fix by swapping to an 8mm. Ryche
  5. Both vids are good and the story is very interesting. The semi auto pat. 2 that he references in the second video is mine. It was built several years ago with Dr, Alpert's help Ryche
  6. A few threads back there was a discussion that included Kraig rifles. A member also collected these rifles and was rather knowledgeable about them. A friend has a 1898, i believe, that was Granddaddy sportered and now needs a safety and the spring and detent. I'm hoping that member can help me find these parts. The usual suspects for parts seem to be rather slim on availability. Thanks in advance Ryche
  7. There was a B prefix that sold this past weekend at Reata Pass auction in Prescott AZ. I will attempt to get the serial number. It was in pretty decent shape except for the broken mag hanger pin, the pins were in the wrong place and the spring top was snapped off. Hammer price was $6250. Add the juice and you at 7 grand. Ryche
  8. I have a ft. sling loop but not the swivel that rivets to the receiver. If this is helpful let me know. Ryche
  9. Met Cam today very cool guy. Thanks for the Edit. Alot of you guys already know about some of my stuff from Ian's videos and forum conversations with Brian, Tanker, and Joe so i wasn't to worried. We had a good time and a very good conversation. Looking forward to some range time together when my schedule clears up a little Fun story about the commercial JSAR that he mentioned. I owned and sold it several years before he acquired it. not only from the serial num. but also some very distinctive elements about that particular rifle. :)) Ryche
  10. Hey Cam: you must be in north AZ. area. I am in Prescott. Let me know what you think of the carbine. I saw it a while back. Ryche
  11. Art: Yes it was a 2 groove. It kinda surprised me at the time as i wasn't familiar with them. We were both surprised at how well it printed out to 200-250 yards. As i remember the price was really good too. The dealer had about 4 different 1917 barrels to choose from, and i told my buddy that the JA would be very cool on the rifle. He has been pleased with it ever since. Now that she is dressed right looks alot better than the bubba sporter we started with. Ryche
  12. I have run into this at the range several times. Usually the one guy who is not the expert and is just interested gets to shoot my rifle. All the rest can pound sand. I have given up trying to change their opinion with historical fact. As for Mustang stories... A buddy sold my son (who is 18) a one step this side of a basket case , 66 coupe for $5. yes that's right five dollars. At that price it gives us a little room to put money in it Ryche
  13. If anybody is going to jump at these make sure to ask about the tension spring that goes underneath and the small retaining pin that goes in the blank end of the screw. Also if the second one has a screw. very hard to find on its own. I think gunparts corp had some of these awhile back, dont know if they still do. Personally i think that unless they are complete , his price is a bit high. Ryche
  14. unfortunately that wasn't an option at the time. The JA barrel was in unused condition and kinda added to the rebuild from sporter thing we were doing Ryche
  15. Several years ago a buddy need a replacement barrel for his 1917. We found and used a really nice JA barrel. With a little sighting in the rifle shoots beautifully. Good barrels when you can find them. Ryche
  16. Hey Guys: Eb i believe you are correct about the LMG rec. being a bit thicker. The piece in question is an anti bolt bounce device that works with full auto. There is a plunger and a heavy spring inside that rides against the bolt to ensure lock up before detonation of the cartridge, it was to stop out of battery detonation. The same type of set up was used on a number of light machineguns, such as the DROR and the MG-42. This piece was probably added to a JLMG look alike for originality look purposes. The plunger and spring are probably removed as are not needed in semi only rifle. no need to drill out material and weaken the rec. if not needed. I was thinking of doing the same when i built both my DROR and JLMG look alike. My DROR pat. 2 was used in Ian's video and if you look closely you will see it is not there . I was with a buddy when his 42 blew up due to lack of this device. That is how i learned about them. So Rarecat you are also on the right track as it being a regulator because it kinda is. Ryche
  17. It may be for an 03 Springfield variant. I have a buddy who needed to replace his badly corroded barrel and we found a JA marked barrel at a show that was an excellent replacement. The fit was good to the rec. and headspace was not an issue. shoots nice and straight. Depending on what you paid for it, if it is a Springfield replacement, Broker might be a good place to move it. Ryche
  18. sorry i'm late. life keeps getting in the way. i would like 1 each #2 and 3. Thanks Ryche
  19. Well Tanker you might as well tell them what it is my question is did you find it in country or take it with you? if found over there i wonder how it got there hhhmmm Ryche P.S. hope your doing well buddy

  21. I have had that problem with C-96's in the past year or two. Broken 2 or 3 of them. As I'm down to my last for all three I'm pissed as well. If you find a good source for orig. or even modern good repos I'm interested. Please keep me in the loop. Ryche

  23. It is a very little known fact that Adolph Hitler was killed by those two very rifles when he stepped out of the bunker for a smoke. The other story was just media hype Ryche
  24. If you have posters made i would like to buy a set. Please keep us posted about that. Ryche
