The guy i know that has these parts (the others advertised are also his) . I don't know if his computer name is DOC R , but i don't think so .Imight have one of the screw lugs that has been stripped of the radiator. The LMG stock is in reasonably good condition, and the plug, cup, and spring are all as new. (he got them from me). They are original parts. In the auto vernacular they are called nos (new old stock). I got them several years ago. Anyway he's a stand up guy to deal with. As far as what you can use it for? If you built a repro DROR it would be useful, or if you have a damaged JSAR it might be useful. PARTS IS PARTS !

I have seen and held these parts, and they all are,nt bad unfortunatly the radiator is stripped, but if you need it where else are you gonna find it, right?

Hey all i have a stripped LMG lower with the stock, i need to sell it to finance another part of the project i'm working on. If any ones interested let me know. I thought i'd put it out here first as you all love the system like i do. As soon as my wife is able i will post a photo, as i don't know how to do that yet. Thanks. Obviously i'm not very good with a computer yet because i just posted this twice and i don't know how to erase one of them, sorry.

Getting the recoil spring out is the fun part. Remove the two screws in the buttplate, then remove the buttplate. Please tell me it dosnt have a civilian buttpad on it. Once the plate is removed inside will be a large screw head. Make sure you have a good fitting screwdriver, as this screw is very fine threaded and under some pressure from the spring. Once the screw is out the spring should pull right out, the cup may also fall right out. Get in touch with MR.SCOTT they say he has new recoil springs. I'm having a similar problem with a paracarbine repro i'm working on,feeds and shoots great but it wont retract enough to eject the case. It becomes a great bolt action rifle at that point. Hopefully some of the others have ideas.

Check to make sure the recoil extension arm is in the recoil cup. If its not the extension will jam inside the stock about 1.5 in back. If you pop the cover at the back of the reciever you can see them. If you remove the stock, carefully use a cleaning rod to compress the recoil spring. This will tell you if its jamming in the recoil tube. Im sure the other guys will have some other ideas, let us know what the problem was for future reference. Good luck MARK

Make sure you have an extractor in your bolt. Many years ago it really sucked to find out the hard way it wasn't there.

Keep your bullet weight around that grain weight. I made the mistake of shooting some federal 180 grain HI-SHOK in mine ,the recoil just about knocked me over.I was afraid if i fired any more i might damage my rifle. After going back down to the 150 to 160 range it was alot better.

Check the crown on the end of your barrel. I once had an FAL with a ding in the crown, it wouldn't hit the same place twice.

Thanks for the heads up, i have an extra mag i picked up several years ago. The extra mag i have appears to be never used. It may be to nice to put on a JSAR thats got some miles on it. Thanks to every one who responded to me.

Since i've got mine stripped down for cleaning, now would be the time to find out how many matching #'s i've got. RIFLE'S # IS 3446. THANKS MARK.

Thanks for the info. I understand, the person who originally recorded the numbers could have made a mistake. Thats just the way life is, and shall continue to be. It's still very nice to have the log with all the info it contains.

Hey thanks for checking, i really appreciate that. I know sometimes i misread 3's as 0's or 8's etc. I was kinda hoping that on a double check my mag would match. The nice thing about it not matching is i can change it to a better one with no hole in the bottom. Thanks once again for the info.

Hooray I've got 5 out of 8 matching #'s. Barrel# is 3886E,Firepin# is A1834, Mag# is 6356 . Would it be possible to recheck the mag# as they are 1 digit off? The mag has a hole in the bottom for a wood plug . I believe a former owner used it for hunting, as the plug limited the mag to 5 rounds. The buttstock is marked with a K 4 where it butts up to the magazine. There appears to be no other markings on the stock. There are some scratches and dings to give it some character, but i love it all the same. Thanks for the research. MARK

I took my johnson to the range recently, as i live in the desert it was a warm day, i didnt get much shooting time due to the crowd i attracted. I allowed one gent to shoot my rifle,i thought he was going to need a bib for the drool. he claimed he had never seen a johnson before. he had five rounds of pure heaven. it was a great day.

Here are some images of an original Johnson LMG Manual. I hope you find them useful. I was able to find a copy of an original LMG manual on E-Bay at one time. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/ind...ost&p=62497 My apologies for the long link, but it will take you to the correct post with the images.

The .303 bolt face that I have is from a DROR LMG. It's direct copy of a Johnson LMG. The DROR was designed from a Johnson LMG by a Johnson employee at the time. The DROR bolt mates up and locks with a Johnson '41 barrel. I don't have an LMG barrel to double-check, but I assume that it fits. What I need is a 30.06 LMG bolt face to complete my paratroop model. I'm also looking for 2 '41 rifle bolt faces. I am willing to trade 2 bolt rears and recoil extensions... or a trigger group (minus the hammer).

Believe I have a DROR .303 Johnson LMG Bolt (not sure) in good condition. Father's had it in his shop for years. What I need is a Johnson LMG 30.06 Bolt. Would be willing to trade bolt faces or entire bolt. Please contact me if interested. Thanks! Mark

Yes, the bolts look identical except for the bolt face. I have a '41 op handle on it right now. Currently, my digital camera is broken, but I should be replacing it soon. Please stay in touch - I'm definitely interested!

Also looking for DROR parts... Still searching for Johnson '41 bolt faces, I need two. If you have any information, please reply or PM me. Thanks!

I have been looking for Johnson '41 bolt faces. I have two bolt rears with recoil extensions, but no bolt faces. Also looking for firing pins (yes, I've been in contact with Biscotti - thanks!!!). I have a complete fire control set minus the hammer. I'm either looking for the hammer to complete the set, or am willing to trade the control set for other parts. It's been awhile since I dug through my parts, so I'm really going to do my best here to find them and get a complete list together of what I have My father had two Johnson's before, and sold them before he knew any better Since then, we have acquired a very nice Johnson rifle and now I'm in the process of trying to build an example of the paratroop model.

No one has any information on where I might find a Johnson LMG 30.06 bolt or bolt face?
