  1. What do you figure a good repro would be worth? I would still be interested at the right price. Thanks Ryche
  2. LOL I'm in LOL
  3. I don't think there is such a thing as an "unwanted Johnson" Ryche
  4. Wally: I'm sorry i did get the P.M. but haven't had the time to check my stuff. I have two birthdays right at Christmas time 1 my wife and 2 is my now 11 yr. old son. My apologies for not getting back sooner i'm heading into my shop today and will find it. Ryche
  5. I'd even through in a hold open with it
  6. I have a ft. sight avlb. shoot me a P.M. and we can talk. Brian will have a good clue as to what the barrel would be worth. I'll trade ya for a ft. sight laugh Ryche
  7. Surprised would be a good way to put it... Thanks for the info Brian, considering what i know about some of the gun trade around the world, all that never occurred to me. I never knew about the scoped models in the bay of pigs, do you know where i can find more info on that? Thanks for the heads up i love learning new things Ryche
  8. No " BS" man i wouldn't have believed it either until i saw the pictures... I was just as blown away just how in the he*l did a 41 JSAR get into Afghanistan???? That makes his piece kinda unique and i hope there is not a flood of "documented" pieces coming in. Just the fact that he was finally allowed to bring it home was amazing, i'm glad it wasn't destroyed over there, you know how we are these days about our guys bringing stuff home from combat. Ryche
  9. Those pieces are correct for the era, but the JSAR never carried them on board. Somebody did this to the rifle, the big question is When??? Ryche
  10. Hey Ed: Yeah i tried to explain that fact to her but she was insistent that because it had a matching bolt that made it worth more Some people just refuse to learn. When i asked to pick it up to look at it, she said "what is it you want to see"??? I replied " the other side and the serial number" So she picked it up and showed it to me, i was never allowed to touch the rifle at all. The whole incident was just ridiculous... I had alot of guys walk up and ask about the one i had for sale, almost couldn't eat lunch from talking and answering so many questions Also met my fair share of experts that have never touched one. I did have a guy who told me he carried one in Afghanistan. I looked at him and said how is that possible?? He showed me a photo of him in Afghanistan a year or two ago in uniform with his M-16 strapped to his back and holding a 41 JSAR with a big smile.. He said "the guy i took it from didn't need it anymore" He carried it for a short time and through alot of paper work was allowed to ship it home. I was stunned,, what a crazy place to find a 41JSAR in functional condition. WOW Ryche
  11. Does anyone know how to reach this guy? I have his part and i don't know how quickly he needed it but its here. If anyone knows him outside the board please let him know. Thanks Ryche
  12. Hey i found the fire pin stop you need. It even has the little attchment spring inside. It cost me $20. Shoot me a P.M. so we can get shipping details and i can get it sent. Ryche
  13. I think he is a little high on his price. Ryche
  14. Just saw a JSAR at the Sar show in Phoenis AZ. The seller wanted $11,000. 00 It was in nice shape and a B prefix but not 11 Grand nice.... And the seller was all excited over the fact that the Rec. and the bolt had matching numbers.... She was telling me just how rare these guns are as i reshouldered my civilian Winfield and i replied, about the time she noticed i was selling a Johnson as well, that i knew how rare they are, but not $11,000 rare. I don't think she liked me very much. Good luck at the show Brian should be able to help you find a good one. Ryche
  15. Also make sure the ammo you are using is not above 150 gr. bullet. I fired some 180 gr. mistakenly through mine and it just about knocked me out of the seat. Also possible to break an ejector, you don't want to do that as they are hard to find and expensive if you do find one. Ryche
  16. The LMG ones are a little larger but can be ground down to work. I think gunpartscorp.com also known as Numrich had them but i don't know for sure. Lets see if anyone on the site has one or i may be able to find one in early Dec. at the big gun show. There is a guy who usually shows up that has parts. Ryche
  17. Its on the shelves now, i just saw it two days ago. it said to display until Dec. Price is about $10. When i saw it, It was at a Wal Mart neighborhood market. Thats kinda like their version of a grocery store. Ryche
  18. I saw that and wasn"t sure till i saw that Canfield wrote the article.. May have to do that now. Any other info beside whats in "The Book" ?
  19. I know someone who still has some parts, so between brian and i we should be able to get you a complete set for a DROR mod. I guarantee you wont see one at the local range unless you are at his or mine... And you will generate alot of attention with it .... Ryche
  20. Yes i've seen one like that... I own it. Some Bubba cut off the jacket all the way down to the rib on the bottom. I bought it purposely to build a DROR as Brian spoke about above. We think that's about all they would be good for any longer. Yours appears to have a section at the front still in place? Is there a section larger than the rec. added to the rear to retain the barrel? It really makes you wonder what they were thinking when doing mods like this.. Anyway welcome to the site there is alot of good info to be learned here... Ryche
  21. That is a great looking rifle. hope one of the guys pulls it up to see if all visible parts match the log. Ryche
  22. True Tanker True.... The interesting part is i know the man who owns that pawn shop, and that is what he is doing. He's a really good guy, i've known him and done business with him for many years. Ryche
  23. The ad says its reblued and i think that he is fishing due to some of the others being sold at really high prices on broker over the last two years. Makes sense to me, If you are not in a hurry to sell why not start high, you can always lower the price. We all talked about some of the stupid high prices JSAR's were going for on broker. Ryche
  24. Nope there were no matching serial guns. From what we understand both nonprefix and prefix #ered guns were built at the same time. There is a possibility that any particular rifle might have a matching # or two but fully matching has been put together by someone else. Ryche
  25. I think that makes a bunch of us not seeing...Ryche
