  2. Mr. Scott- Is it possible to obtain any information on my Johnson # 4276? I would be appreciative of such. This weapon is in EXCELLENT shape and sports the Dutch proofmark (star) above the Cranston triangle symbol. The rifle looks to be all original with original markings on bbl ring, etc. One item that I am curious about is a "cursive type L" stamped on the stock wrist (flat part - where most US military host their P (proof) marks.) Canfield mentions in his 1941 book that this should not be there - as no marks or cartouches were present on these rifles. Thanks for reading and the help - both are greatly appreciated.
