  1. I tried to enter some pictures, but I was unable to do so. Can do it via email. Also have picture of one I got from Capt. Johnsons estate years ago. It has a military marked scope mounted. The one in question has no marks on the barrel of any kind except for the 2 notches, which are about 1/4 inch long. The seller knew nothing about the rifle except his dad treasured it. Anyone interested in pics can email me at: stan_cpr AT yahoo.com
  2. I recently bought a very nice Johnson in the no prefix, 67xx serial range, and when I compared it to my other Johnson rifles, the barrel was just under an inch shorter than the others, and does not protrude much beyond the front sight. The new one measures 21 13/16" from the rear of the collar, my others measured 22 11/16". It has two small machined notches opposite each other where the barrel begins to taper ahead of the collar. It has no bayonet lug. The rifle is in fine condition overall, and I wonder if the barrel is an 03 Springfield, etc? There are no markings I can see, and overall it is like new. The seller says it was his fathers, and sat in a closet for as long as he could remember. The price was low enough to rule out any kind of hustle on his end. Of course, it was missing the hold open, but I have some extras I keep for this purpose. It looks almost new.
  3. I have an A prefix Johnson in original condition that I would be willing to sell or trade. It has the usual handling dings, but NO splits or damage that I can see. Over the years I have owned approx. 10 Johnsons, the first one in 1962. I would like to see this one go to a beginning collector, if possible. It is the standard JSAR, has the hold open device, no dents to the mag, about 75% original finish, a straight up, honest Johnson. I've been collecting high end German weapons lately, and willl consider trades, trades + cash, etc. I don't need to sell it, but since hearses' don't have luggage racks, I'm willing to part with it for paper. I can supply pics, and anyone interested can email me at stan_cpr AT yahoo.com BTW, I would guess it would/will sell for $5000+ on GB, etc.
  4. Hello all.....I would like to know if anyone can give me some information on my two Johnsons? They are both "b" prefix and both are in fine condition. The first is b8059, second is b8613. Any information would be appreciated. I first encountered the Johnson Rifle in 1956 at a wonderful store in Pasadena called Golden State Arms. They had racks of Johnsons for $99.00 !
  5. If you are selling a Johnson, I would be very interested. Please contact me re price, etc. at stan_cpr AT yahoo.com
