A picture would be a big help. Many Johnson rifles were converted into "deer rifles". HTH

Did your M1941 go "full auto" or just double fire? Latter could be from loosely shouldering rifle and bump firing. Just a thought, Mike
-
Since the M1941 was never matching from the factory, there is less interest (generally speaking) to match parts to the receiver serial number. Mixed matched numbers are the original format, and a "fully matching" M1941 is suspect in the least as to originality. Now if you have the original configuration from the records (only non-prefixed rifles at this time) there may well be interest in getting a part that matches the original delivery. HTH

Earlier this year a Johnson M1941 SAR sold at auction, in IN IIRC, for $6,100. Very low serial number, 0067, in VG+ original military condition. Anyone familiar with this rifle/sale? Thanx Mike

FYI, I have a reproduction bayonet on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...E:IT&ih=018 Any questions let me know, Mike

Asking $100 delivered to lower 48 for the .30-06 Sporter barrel and $100 for the complete trigger group as displayed in the pix. Again delivered to the lower 48. Let me know of interest, Thanx Mike

Joe, I could be interested in swapping my .30-06 sporter barrel. let me know if there's interest. Mike

Not sure about returning to military configuration. It appears to have been tapered some from the receiver end toward the muzzle. Just an FYI, HTH

Might be my senior eyes, but does the serial number appear to be double stamped? At least on the first number. Not sure if this means anything. Is there "history" about such activity? Mike

Just acquired Walt's FS Miltech and am wondering if detail numbers are available for 3636? I know chances of original parts are slim to none, just curious. TIA

I don't have first hand knowledge, but Google search reports the collection is in Portola Valley, California. HTH

Are there any used but GC barrels available? What options are there for getting a decent shootable barrel in order to preserve my original one? Thanx Mike

Point as to military rifle: the M1941 was never officially a military rifle. This was the point when I imported a M41 from Canada. Past threads covered this in much greater extent than I can, but the point is the M1941 does NOT qualify as a military fire arm. FWIW

Much thanx Walt!

Would appreciate the production info on Johnson M1941 SARs serials numbers 2476 and 4735. Thanx in advance. Also serial number 4735 was acquired as a Sporter in .30-06 which I have restored to military configuration with a 7mm Mauser barrel. Shoots great! Again TIA Mike

I converted my sporter back to military configuration leaving some parts available. All are in VG or VG+ condition. I am open to offers of $ and/or trade. Available are a full trigger assembly and a sporter stock with all metal included (less fore arm screws). I'll get a couple of pix in a day or so.
