  1. Got the barrel today, it is an actual Johnson barrel with matching serial number on the barrel and barrel extension and the "JA 30-06" near the breech end. It either was welded up super proferssionally, or possibly turned down at the muzzle end (slight taper) to remove the pin marks, or I guess it could have been a factory barrel with no front sight or bayonet lug ever installed, so I will have to measure it to see what diameter it is near the muzzle. If you can dig up the muzzle diameter on a factory barrel that would be great, otherwise a friend of mine has a 1941 Johnson that I can measure the outside diameter of the barrel to compare.
  2. I made an offer on it and the seller accepted, should have it in hand shortly. I should be able to iff the pin grooves were welded up or if maybe it is just a new barrel with johnson parts installed in it. Will let you know what I find out when I get it! dawg180
  3. Jaay, sent you a message dawg180
  4. Brian, Boom! Just the guy I was hoping would answer! Gotcha, basically the M1941 receiver is extended to allow the bolt stop cover, etc. to be fitted to the rifle vs. the LMG not having it with the inline stock. Assuming that I had a butchered sporter 1941 as a donor, milling that off and possibly some fitting to get the frame rails between the upper and lower to attach, and the notch on the right side for the lower catch to engage, and a LMG cam piece (rear of the carrier) it would work(?) (and a front sight and rear sight of course) Dawg180 P.S. are you still doing the Louisville gun show(s)?
  5. Will a Dror lower fit on a standard M1941 Johnson without (permanent) modifications to the M1941 receiver? I am assuming you would need to remove the "rat tail" from the M1941 bolt but otherwise would it (in theory) work? Think "daisy mae" with the tubular Dror look.
  6. Mike, if you decide to let go of that vertical feed johnson let me know, i would be very interested. sven
  7. Yes! So where does one aquire a LMG lower or even better a Dror vertical magwell lower?
  8. Thank you Brian, that is exactly what I was wondering! Was mainly trying to figure out how easily a "Daisy May' could be made from a gun set up for the side feed LMG magazine well, and that answers it.... not very easily.
  9. From what I can tell the rotary magazine and the side feed LMG magazine should be interchangeable, but if one of you very knowledgeable folks could confirm that I would really appreciate it!
  10. Is there any hard work (milling, etc) required to convert a side feed Johnson to a Drum Feed, or vise versa, assuming you have the proper parts?
