  1. There was a johnson 1941 at the did Day museum in New Orleans ( pre Katrina anyway); Springfield Armory museum has at least one in the reference collection ( if they are start offering tours again post COVID) along with a garland prototype with a JAR magazine adapted, and the Wright museum in Wolfbouro NH has a JAR 1941 on display ( the only item I recall that is on display noted to be on loan ) .
  2. Mr Scott, How do I order the DVD? RIGUNNER
  3. A few years ago the Springfield Armory Museum had a tour that had to be booked in advance and had a nominal cost . It was given by a museum curator and a park ranger ( museum run by the park service). We started at the oldest firearms from the colonial period. Unfortunately time ran short as we got to WWII. There was at least 1 garand on display with a rotary magazine . There was also a std Johnson 1941 ( no " prototypes etc").I am told they no longer offer that tour. Too bad it was the best 10 $ ever spent. Will hunt for the memory stick and see if I can post some of the photos. A few cameras and computers ago. RIGUNNER
  4. Has anyone had any info re Marrone shotguns ? Made in Hope Valley Rhode Island .It was supposed to have come from the Johnson Custom shop after JA closed. I just saw one with a deep blue finish in 12 ga. I will post pictures when I can . Odd to see an over under in the US in the 50's. Regards , RI Gunner
  5. Dear Mitch , I participated in one of the "record setting " Johnson auctions from The Gunrunner Auctions ( fortunately I lost my nerve prior to the final gavel).I did later buy a JA 1941 from their store that was legit and as advertised . I also bought a fake trench gun from him and when I called him I was told that they were not his specialty and was given an appology and a prompt refund as soon as I sent in documentaion from Mr Canfield's book. In short they seem to be honest folks .Very different from the sites that sell the " one of a kind prototypes without documentation ".In short look out for auction houses that promise the moon . Good Luck , RIGUNNER
  6. Thanks , Mitch, and everyone Will give it a try.
  7. Mitch , What diameter is the tubing?I have tried a few but they keep binding. Thanks, RIGUNNER

  9. Tanker, Where did you get the wood? Was it a blank that you had made or was it bought as a finished stock? It looks like EELL wood from the Beretta Galley !! RIGUNNER
  10. M48 Tanker, I have MR3 a Taft Pierce model.I will get it (it is stored off site ) and try to send photos. My recollection is that the mag on my rifle is different from yours and the stock looks different. I will reply but it may take me a few day. RIGunner
  11. So let me get this straight. These "prototypes "a just cut parts kits built up with semi recievers? They are not the prototypes that were sold a few years ago out of the Cody museum?Has anyone seen any of the Taft Pierce guns turn up?I think # 4 was sold by RI auctions.
  12. Does anyone have a copy of the Johnson Indor target gun directions that they can post? RIGUNNER
