    Johnson's and Stoner LMG's
  1. Charlie.......I don't have any original length barrels. Just some that have been sporterized....and cut shorter....and of course a bad bore. I do have barrel extensions and can make up new ones with Springfield 03 barrels. These come out great....and I've made quite a few. Have a great New Years. David dbcolts@aol.com
  2. Joe....do you have any more rifle cocking handles, front sights and bayonet lugs....??$$. Also I hear that you've made some 1941 LMG mag feed trays....??$$. I have a LMG trigger housing w/butt stock I can trade...?? And I have some other parts that I could trade as well...what are your needs? Thanks for the help, over the years. You've enabled me to restore quite a few modified rifles. David Buehn 714 310 9934
  3. PS......I also have two 8mm Mauser Droer kits that include the complete trigger guard/buttstock (like a 1945 Johnson LMG) and the complete forward reciever w/barrel (xlnt bore), latch, front sight, and bipod. No mag housing. I made a few of these into semi-auto Droer's with these kits. The last one I made into a .30/06 as the kit uses BAR magazines. The two kits are $1250 each. The Droer trigger guard slides right onto a 1941 semi-auto Johnson receiver. David
  4. I've been a Johnson fan for 40 years....and have acquired a few extra parts over the years, as I rebuilt "sporterized" versions, back into their original military configuration. It would probably be easier to tell you what I don't have: cocking handle, recoil spring, front sight, bayonet lug, buttstocks (I do have orig. forends), mag. door spring, firing pin retaining clip. Send me your wants....and maybe I can help. I also have a 1941 LMG trigger guard w/parts, stock & pistol grips, and one that is stripped, but with stock. I will trade or buy parts that I don't have. David Buehn 714 310 9934 dbcolts@aol.com
  5. I agree.....it looks original.....like Brian says. The stock is in great shape. I've had over a 100 Johnson's....LMG's included, and its as right-as-rain. LOL. David
  6. I have two 1941 LMG lowers. #1 has parts w/pistol grips and #2 has only the buttstock attached. Here are the desriptions. You also said you needed a "bolt follower"....you mean "carrier"??? WWII Johnson 1941 Light Machine Gun trigger housing w/buttstock and grip stocks. The trigger housing is complete with trigger, sear, disconnector, selector/safety, springs…..no crossbolt lock, buttplate or recoil spring, or tube cap. All in very good orig. condition…..no pitting or rust, and retaining a small amount of Parkerizing. Very good original walnut butt stock and pistol grips. This slides right onto a Semi-Auto receiver......and by removing a little off the back of the receiver....can be made to fit. I've made a few semi-auto LMG's this way.$950 I also have another one with no internal parts….in the same condition for $550. David Buehn 714 310 9934 or dbcolts@aol.com
  7. Here is a very good condition original Johnson Light Machine Gun Instruction Manual, 1st Edition. It has a light blue soft cover. Its 88 pages long and has one bi-fold drawing on the back page. Sadly there is some moth holes in the back cover. The name "HERNBRODE-W.R." is stamped on the front cover. And written inside the cover "William R Hernbrode G.M. 1/C".
  8. Where did all the 1941 LMG Johnson bipods go?

  9. This is another one of the semi-auto Dror LMG's that I made. Using a kit that I'd gotten from IMA many years ago. None of them had magazines, and so luckily I had one in my MG magazine parts---to complete it. I've never seen one since......as always....us gun nuts wonder "where did they all go?". It just sold at the Rock Island Auction last December.
  10. Brian Yes....those were all mine. They were not prototypes....just composite guns that I manufactured many years ago. All of them sold....except the one pictured here. Which I've decided to keep. All the Dror's were built form the parts kits that IMA sold a number of years ago. They had a few .303 kits....but "NO" magazines. I bought one kit, as I'd had a magazine in my accumulation of MG parts.....and I've never seen another. It sold at the RIA auction. They didn't bring anything near what I wanted....but what the heck....the economy isn't what it was 3 years ago either. I still have some of the DROR kits & parts. David
  11. [ Barry It is unusual....and most people wouldn't guess what it was. I've only test fired it....never had it at a range. David
  12. Chris It's....as you guessed....a hinged door to keep dirt out of the mag-well housing. Its spring loaded....but can be locked open. David
  13. Here is an unusual semi-auto 30/06 rifle that I built about 15 years ago. With the accumulation of Johnson parts over the last 30 years....I'd assembled a number of semi-auto Johnsons and Dror rifles, using "SEMI-AUTO" recievers. This one uses the 1941 LMG trigger housing and buttstock, Dror magazine housing (uses BAR mags), LMG barrel, M14 bi-pod.
  14. I'm trying to get JSAR up and running.....I only need a few more parts to complete it: bolt handle, extractor, butt plate, and 3 of the large stock & forend cross bolt w/screws. Here is a pix of B1840. I know it'll just be a shooter....but what the heck, its worth saving all of them. I'll have my gunsmith make a new barrel from a 1903A3 Remington WWII barrel (he's done about a dozen of these for me over the last 15 years). I hope that Joe Scott reads this....we haven't talked in quite a few years.....sure bought a lot of parts from him.
  15. Hi....I have a couple of the "bolt hold open levers"....if you are interested.
