  3. In December 1983 I was in Sherwood International in Northridge Ca. buying some spare parts for my 41 Johnson. One of the salesmans said that they had some 7mm Argintine barrels in the white for $40.00, not really nooding a 7mm barrel I passed on it. I wish I hadn't, as I could have used it for dimensions. Then he said they had a different style of operating handle assy. He mentioned the country they were made for, but I can't remember which country. He said that they didn't like the original op handle, but prefered the M1 GARAND style op handle. Since this op handle was so unique I couldn't pass it up and bought one. Any help in I.D.ing which country this was made for would be greatly appreciated. I have included pictures of it. Scattershot
  4. Over the years I've shot PS, LC, WCC, FN, the last stuff I shot was SL-57,and it all shot well without a hitch. The only time I had a problem was with some, I believe Austrian, head stamped OJP IV 61, the recoil impulse was quite severe and the extractor ripped the back of the case off leaving the case in the chamber. I thought that maybe the extractor might be at fault,so I changed it, cleared the chamber and fired one more round, same result. This ammo was HOT, bolt gun ammo only. I've never had a problem with the gun since and it didn't appear to harm the gun at all. Scattershot

  6. I just recently discovered this site. I've collected firearms for many years and have been interested in the Johnson rifle. My question is what is the differance between a Type 1 stock and a Type 2 stock, and what S.N did the factory switch at.
