Hey Jabbo,
Personally, I like 8186. Nice no prefix example with a bayonet. Also, the previous owner/researcher is a well known member of this sight. I am by far not an expert! This is strictly my personal opinion…

You will love your Murray’s stock! I have one as a back up and they are beautifully done!

So that’s what it is like to live in a free state?

Guess I need to take another look at mine because mine is the brown/red, round corner version. I was told it was a repro?
-
Interesting? Looks identical to mine and I know mine isn’t original. Might be hard to prove originality?

That’s interesting, I just got an ad from them this morning listing all of the rubber ducks they had for sale?? As of this morning, they had M1’s, M14’s and M16’s. Guess they sold quickly?

Hey Ed,
Go to International Military Antiques (IMA) website. They have multiple “rubber duck” rifles in stock. Most of them they know what movies they were used in.

That would be a great list to see! I know mine is a Chilean JSAR and I would love to see the numbers around it.

Hey Tanker! Sent you a PM

Very cool! Love to see these rifles at the range!

Looks like a great day. We had cold, windy weather and possibly snow again tomorrow here in southeastern, Ohio. I guess I won't be working in the garden or out at the range this weekend!
They all shot great!! I was so-so!
Weather here today was about 75 with about a 5 mph breeze! About the only thing good to say about CA is the weather!

My other 3 Garands have the walnut stocks. This Garand with the laminated stock, I built it with all SA parts, correct to the serial number of the receiver. The only thing that isn’t SA is the new Criterion barrel. I figured since I put it together, I might as well put some bling on it!

I like that! I’m going to have to remember that! That’s just my range bag. My range is about an hour and a half drive so I try and bring enough ammo to last me most of the day but not to many firearms so I don’t end up spending the next week cleaning.

Spoke with the seller. He said is was made by Murray’s Gun Stocks. He also said it is absolutely beautiful and very little if any finish work is needed other than applying BLO. Will be a good stock to place on my JSAR and keep my original military configured stock safe.

Not anymore! Mine now! Thanks Tanker for the heads up!

Not to beat a dead horse but a had a data entry problem about 15-20 years ago. Upon filing my tax return, I got audited. I was informed my SS # was incorrect. I looked at my returns and I had used the same number I had always used. I went to the local SS office (which was an adventure in itself) and showed them my card. They told me it was probably their fault. I was told that they were transferring everybody’s SS# from index cards to the computer! Like I said this was only about 15-20 years ago! I can only imagine transferring 300 million numbers from index cards to computer.
My 2 cents….

Hey Greg,
When you get it, take pictures and post. If it looks good and functions properly, might just pick one up in case something happens to my original!
Thanks!!

Just a thought….

Pretty extensive but at least you do have the ability to own some! I was under the impression the gun ownership was pretty much none existent

Maistrak, Welcome to the forum! Since you are in Italy and obviously you have what appears to be a very nice JSAR, what are your guns laws like in Italy?
Again, welcome!

Hey Jabbo,
I was not referring to Bruce in my post what so ever. I have no idea if he owned this firearm or not! I am referring to picture 7 from the auction sight! Again, this is my personal opinion!
