Good to hear that you were aware of the caliber mismatch on the barrels. Here are some pics of my guide collars and barrel stamps. Now I am curious... My 30-06 stamped guide does not have the stamping on the barrel near the breech. I have only shot the .270 a few times, did not have any 30-06 ammo with me last time we took it out.

Beautiful rifle... Congrats. keep an eye on ebay & gunbroker for barrels & parts, Numrich & Sarco have a few items. Pic #19 shows 30-06 on the barrel collar & #33,34 show Cal 7 stamping. Did the previous owner install the wrong barrel collar? I will take a look at my 7mm barrel tonight.

It has been relisted by the same seller on GB https://www.gunbroker.com/Item/989092082 the previous auction that ended 5/23 in Cam's post above is marked "sold"

I asked about this same rifle in 2020. http://johnsonautomatics.com/messageboard/index.php?/topic/2657-usmc-6-43-markings/#comment-10797

Ouch & Wow all at the same time... I'd be afraid to fire it. It does look like some kind of repair for a drilled & tapped mount, you can see an old tap hole in the forward section next to the U in Automatics.

🤦♂️🤑🤑🤑 Thats just crazy for a sporterized model but the scarcity of these beauties does have a price.

Wow 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

Oh my, that poor recoil stop. Does the barrel fluting go all the way to the muzzle?
-
Thanks Art, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all fellow Johnson enthusiast's.

Keep your eyes open... There was an auction lot within the last few weeks that had a used stock & numerous spare parts, I can't remember if it was on Gunbroker or Proxibid, sorry.

It does look like a rough file was used

Sarco or Numrich???
