  1. Art, I will strip the thing down one of these evenings and get back to the board. I’m working both tonight and tomorrow (I’m a surgeon and am on call the next two nights), so I won’t be able to do it until at least Wednesday evening, but very much appreciate the information. Tim
  2. The serial is 4096, no prefix. The wood is banged up befitting an almost 80 year old war horse, but it runs like a dream. I tried photos with my iPad and they came out less than spectacular. I’ll try getting some photos with a proper camera to post up. And Dutch2, another ham here. I’m KC9JCH. Winter in Wisconsin is a good time to work dx. Tim
  3. New member here. I’ve read this site front to back since acquiring my M1941 Johnson. Thank you for all of the questions already answered. I am a long time shooter and collector and the Johnson was always on my list of rifles I needed to own. I am reluctant to make purchases like that over the internet and finally found one about an hour from where I live. It’s in excellent shape and the former owner even volunteered to take me to his local range to send a few down range before buying it. I couldn’t be more pleased. I don’t have the knowledge to contribute much, but I’ll be reading up every few days. Again, thanks for the resource. Tim
