History Channel's Mafia in Havana JLMG

1 post in this topic

I'm not sure about the correct title of the program, but the History Channel had a fairly interesting piece on the Mafia in Havana, Cuba, last week. There were some shots of the July 26 (Castro) guerrillas both before overturning Batista and during the victorious entrance into Havana. One scene showed what was probably a patrol with one guerrilla carrying a M1941 JLMG that appeared to have a telescopic sight mounted on the receiver. Might have been other equipment that made it appear that way as the scene was very short. Other scenes showed the Castro guerrillas and I counted two JSARs. Might have been the same guy, but it was sort of interesting. You really can't miss recognizing JLMGs because of the front sight, and the JSARs are fairly readily recognizable with the radiator front end!
