Bayonet lugs & front sights

1 post in this topic

I have been sent several lugs and sights to install that were purchased elsewhere. Most of them have oversize taper pin holes where the old pins were drilled out instead of being pressed out. These require a larger pin (sometimes 2x larger) and don't look right. One new lug was bored undersize for barrel and required reaming to fit. Look carefully at any you buy, that one side of the hole is larger than the other. A 2/0 pin is about 5/32" large end and 1/8" small end. Many hardware stores carry taper pins and you can go try them for size in your part. If they are beat up or drilled oversize, send them back.
