Johnson stock?

As it is man cave cleaning time, here is another bit lying around for years. This is an unfinished stock, which looks like Johnson wood to me, but I would like opinions. The two holes on the butt end are probably where it was held in a lathe. Also, Joe Scott, can it be finished off as a complete stock?

It is an incomplete Johnson rear but a lot is not done yet. It would be very hard to get it aligned in a stock cutting machine with a different pattern stock and come out right. The inside recoil tube hole is the hard part. There are some cuts on each end that determine length that are not made. Not a project for me.

So, someday when there is a Johnson museum, it could find a home as an exhibit.....
