Johnson Rifle Barrel Twist

3 posts in this topic

In the Johnson archives is there any information on barrel twist rates? I'm thinking 1-10 / 1- 12 possibly.

Thanks

It is simple and easy to test/measure the twist

Using a cleaning rod and 30cal brush, insert the rod to the chamber... put a piece of tape on the cleaning rod flush with the muzzle...make a mark on the tape at the front site position....pull the cleaning rod out until the mark on the tape  has made 1 full revolution....measure the distance from the muzzle to the piece of tape....that is the twist ....1 revolution per X inches
