Reassembly lubrication

3 posts in this topic

Hello all,

I'm just in the process of field stripping my Johnson in what I believe is the first time in close to 70 years. Everything seems to have a thick sticky grease coating. Just wondering what you guys use as lube when reassembling.

Everyone is going to chime in on this one.

Extreme GOOP I remove using engine and carb  cleaner/degreasers.

For lubes, I primarily  use  BreakFree CLP, 3 -In 1,  and white lithium grease where needed.

I  also have and have used some RADCOLUBE CLP, which I understand is used by some in the military.

For cleaning I use brake clean in spray cans, do it in well ventilated area though.

All my fire arms I lubricate with Swiss "Automatenfett",it contains moly and stays put
