I’ve already checked into this and received more pictures from the seller. This is not an original JSAR stock. It is a replacement stock. It does look good though!

I wonder why it was removed? Looks like some bedding material by the front of the  recoil tube. Was the recoil tube hole drilled off center causing gun to malfunction?

Did the pictures you were sent show the recoil tube threads? Thanks,Mike

Yes, it did show that the recoil tube threads looked good to me.  I agree about the bedding or something is going on at the forward area of the recoil tube.  The picture just isn’t clear enough to ascertain what it is though.

Note that the sling swivel is not original, believe it to be 1917 Enfield.
