New JSAR listings -- big estimated prices!

R- 13 is a desirable collector piece but the description conveys it was reconstructed from the receiver, I wonder what effect this will have on the selling price?

The description of R-13 includes the phrase " Born to a very affluent Massachusetts family, " By the time the war was over.....you could have fooled me.....  :-)))  ej

Well, we have to remember, the auction house needs to sell this piece, so the words may become a bit 'fragrant" .

R13 did not quite make it to minimum estimate, only 14,000. Plus plus. Any thoughts?

I wonder what it could have brought if still complete, or was it ever complete?

Well, remember, the auction houses need to 'inspire' activity. If they said 'estimate $300.00 - 400.00" they would never get much. If they say '$16,000-25,000', someone is sure to bite, even if it is not as high as they might wish. They make their money off the final price, so fan the flames higher!
