  1. Walt,

    First, I want to offer my condolences on your house fire. As a Custom Home Building Contractor, I have been involved with helping to replace or repair many fire damaged homes. I'm 69 years old now and hope and pray that this never happens again. I'm glad to hear that you are getting back to some semblance of normalcy.

    What Johnson's or parts, do you have for sale? I might be interested in some burned guns or bayonets.

    Thanks.

  2. Hey Ed, I finally found the Gunbroker auction. Here is the original posting with working pictures.....for the time being anyway. I don't know how long they leave the "sold" auctions up. Try this: http://www.gunbroker.com/item/632255494
  3. Ed, I have tried to find any pictures of the gun listed in the auction. If I recall correctly, it was NOT just a semi-auto JSAR, but a mock up of a JMLG or Para carbine. I did find one picture which I think went with that auction. I saved it because of the "marking" where "AUTO" must have been originally. Someone had changed it to "LOAD". The auction seller was: "CLI_Sales" and can be looked up on Gunbroker. The winning buyer was identified only as "ICE COLD" If this will help any;
  4. Ed, I'll see if the auction is still posted on Gunbroker. The reason you couldn't see the rest of the pictures is that I used a program called "Snipping Tool" which came already loaded on my computer. "Snipping Tool" allows you to simply outline anything on your screen and capture only what is showing at the moment. Like a snapshot of the page you are on. None of the click-able links will work since what you have is basically a photo of the page. I've found this tool to be very useful since you can then do anything you want with the "Snip".....email it, post it to a forum, save it, print it, alter it in "Paint" or any other photo program. I found "Snipping Tool" as an application file under my "System 32 Folder"
  5. Just a heads up. http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-7-Johnson-22-Spitfire-barrel-for-m1-Carbine-unused-/112348547131?hash=item1a287ec83b:g:Ce8AAOSwol5Y2CRq
  6. What a treasure: To have a picture of "Daisy Mae" in action...almost.
  7. Would that be the elusive "magazine carrier' pouch on his chest?
  8. Pictures of Johnsons in Military use: I love the photo too. While examining it for other things like what sort of ammo pouches are in use, I found an interesting glitch: Previously I posted a couple of other pictures of foreign troops with Johnsons including one of troops training for the "Bay of Pigs" invasion of Cuba. Cuban teens: Cuban Snipers? Sniper in tree: A G.I. with a Johnson:?
  9. Can anyone give the build history of Johnson Automatics 1941 rifle serial number 6138
  10. I'm always watching for Johnson bayonets. I feel like I should own every one that's ever been made.....hehehe. I'd really like to have a "dagger bayonet" as shown at the top of the photo: I've looked all over the internet and can't find anything even close. So the search will continue. I just found this on Ebay and I'm curious about it's authenticity. The barrel ring, spring and rivet seem correct and I think I can see a line where the blade was welded to the bottom? Have any of you ever seen a "Johnson bayonet" like this blade? http://www.ebay.com/itm/222448912746?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&fromMakeTrack=true
  11. I found the answer to my question. It's here on "Porter's Page #29" In short, the bayonet seems to have been made for the Taft-Peirce prototypes. These had different bayonet lugs and front sights with a lug on the bottom for attaching the "Dagger Bayonet". Here is a link to a page with all the information you might want to know. http://www.usmilitaryknives.com/porters_page_29.htm
  12. Just saw this. It's not mine. I have no idea if the price is reasonable or not. http://www.ebay.com/itm/AUTOMATIC-ARMS-HISTORY-DEVELOPMENT-USE-Johnson-and-Haven-1941-1st-illus-/132139416472?hash=item1ec41f7b98:g:DZYAAOSwuLZYzs-9
  13. Does anyone know how the Johnson Dagger bayonet attached? Are there any existing pictures of the "locking tab" or mechanism for attaching it?

    Do you still have the buttplates and screws? I need a couple if you do. Thanks

      Thank you! I appreciate your efforts on sharing the records.

  16. There is a nice Miltech restored 1941 Johnson listed on Gunbroker: "http://www.gunbroker.com/Item/624029675" This is not mine, I just happened to see it. If I could get that starting bid I'd sell mine too. I hope the seller gets his price.
