Putting barrel on rifle

How do I install the barrel on my Johnson?

Do you mean to put the same barrel back on that you took off, or do you mean fitting a new barrel to your rifle?

Assuming the first- It's the reverse of removing it...but with a sort-of trick to it. Getting it in the just the right spot before swinging the latch up is the key.

Mine has be where the guide ring of the barrel is just below flush with the radiator opening. Maybe 1/16th below flush. If flush- it won't latch; too far in- it won't latch. After you get that spot found, you can do it by feel. I just got mine this month and can do it without looking now, but the first time had me wondering.

I'd take a picture of it, but my barrel is in TX getting reworked to military config.

If it's the second: fitting a new barrel- I'm not the one to help you there.

Joe Scott sells a videotape involving breakdown of the rifle and I believe barrel mounting is covered as well. It is a very helpful tape. Ed J
