"Bubba'd rifles

1 post in this topic

I was brought a rifle which had a British Enfield rear sight installed in front of the dovetail location. When I removed the sight, there is portion of the receiver top that is gone, leaving a hole about 3/8 x 1" all the way through. Done on a bench grinder by a real " Bubba" "gunsmith". Also had the scope screw holes plugged with screws that went into the bolt travel area and the bolt has left lots of fine metal particles from contacting the screws. Not sure I can do anything with it but will try as the owner paid $4500 for it. I saw this rifle at Tulsa last year and it traveled around until it was sold. Suggestion: don't buy any rifle with obvious wrong parts on it. Will try to post pictures soon.
