WTB Johnson Stock and barrel

9 posts in this topic

Finally adding a johnson to my collection. Unfortunately, the barrel is worn and I have a hairline crack in the buttstock.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also, does anyone have the logs for the first 10,000 no letter prefix?

Thanks

I forgot to mention (don't believe the b.s. you hear about the "golden years"--it just means dementia) the stock can be repaired.

Check out "The Stock Doctor"--I think he's in Dufur, Oregon.

Also check with any good furniture repair shop--any high end antique shop can recommend someone.

Put the s/n of your rifle on the board and you will get the mfg. info.

Trent Warncke at Inverse Engineering has a stripped barrel.

His e-mail:

Trent's a solid guy.

I tried the email for trent. No joy. Could it be a different spelling?

Joseph Scott, who frequentlt posts on this board, has very nice replacement wood and bbls. His stuff is first rate. Original bbls with excellent bores are extremely expensive if you can even find them. Post your no prefix serial # and we will give you the original parts data.

You can glue the crack with super glue. A professional furniture restorer told me it penetrates all the way to the bottom of crack like penetrating oil without having to drill holes or splitting it open. I have used it successfully many times.

I just around to checking my original reply post and I DID give you an incorrect e-mail addy for Trent Warncke.

I left out a "@".

Here it is again and I hope I get it right this time:

twarncke@inverse-eng.com
