Winfield Sporter Stock

Hello everyone! I'm new at this and have never asked for help. I have been a member for several years and have enjoyed reading all the helpful information in all the topics over that time.

I now hope someone can help. I owned a winfield sporter. After changing the spring which had taken a set, I now want to replace the old dried and brittle recoil pad. The stock has a few spots on it and I would like to know if anyone can give me an idea what stock stain winfield used? The stock has a slight reddish hue and seems to be a semi- gloss finish.

I've know Al MacDonald for numerous years and purchased the rifle at Al's recommendation. Al said the rifle was the best blued winfield he had ever seen. Al was right I still haven't seen another that comes close.

The White Line Butt Pad closely resembles the original Sporter Pad. I have one on mine.
