Request Serial Number Check

12 posts in this topic

I was fortunate enough (I think!) to win a Johnson Model of 1941 in a recent auction.

I have received it, and have downloaded the manual so i can break it down.

I am also anxiously awaiting delivery of Canfield's book on the Model of 1941.

The serial number of my rifle is 8164. I would greatly appreciate any information you may have on my rifle.

Mr. Alpert,

Thank you, sir!

Now I just have to fugure where all of the numbers are stamped. Hopefully that is in Mr. Canfield's book, which I just received.

BTW - The Canfield book, so far, is fascinating.

For both of you new Johnson owners, the Canfield-Lamoreaux-Johnson book will be very helpful to you. I also suggest you try to obtain Joe Scott's video on Johnson assembly and disasembly.

Ed,

I bought the Canfield/Johnson/Lamoreaux book the day I won the rifle - and I am sooo glad. It is an excellent book - full of knowledge and very well written.

I am hoping to get a copy of the DVD. I know Joe is still having eye issues. Considering all I read, I can empathize with him.

I took my 1941 Johnson to the range today. Awesome rifle. If only it had come down the pike two or three years earlier, before Springfield Arsenal was tooled up for the Garand. I love my Garands, but the 1941 Johnson has some very distinct advantages.

Thank you!

PS - What is the correct way to refer to the Johnson Automatics Model of 1941 Semiautomatic Rifle?

I usually refer to it on these pages as JSAR41 but have seen other variations. The Machine Guns would be JLMG41 and JLMG44.
