Johnson Receiver prints or drawings?

4 posts in this topic

Hi, New to the site. Very informative. We got lucky enough to buy a 1941 Johnson receiver forging a few months ago. We need drawings or prints with dimentions {working drawings} to machine this forging for our parts we have. Any help would be apreciated or leads too. George "slowfinger"

The receiver machining drawing does not exist among the known drawings. It would be easier to purchase a good receiver and keep the forging as an example. I think machining the forging would cost more than a complete working rifle.

Joseph, We may have to go that route. As for the machining my friend does stuff for me when needed! He made a Stoner 63A bolt carier that we could not find anywhere for a reasonable cost. I'll bet he could do the johnson receiver for $500. or less. We make machining jigs all the time and ocasionaly a reweld jig if we have the ATF letter. I should have been a gun mechanic instead of a truck mech.LOL
