Rotary Magazine problems

1 post in this topic

Found a gun that would not present the last cartridge properly and did not feed it. Also door spring seemed weak. Found that the magazine center pin had a burr on it and prevented free movement of pusher. On the last cartridge, there was not enough spring tension to overcome the drag. Polished center pin for a loose slip fit in center tube of mag. and it now presents cartridge properly. On the door spring, it seemed weak on closing door. Found that hinges did not align and caused door to drag on its pin. Straightened door so pin slips through freely, now ok.

The replacement barrel does not have the chamfer into the mouth of the chamber for smooth feed of cases. When the inlet edge is sharp, it tends to increase friction of case entering chamber. To fix this, you have to remove rear collar and radius corner with a tool steel scraper. More tips as I find them.
