How times have changed....literally!

I found this image while browsing through some digital content that Ed Johnson provided. It only goes to prove how valuable a 'penny' was back in 1941 compared to today!

ROTFLMAO .....Yes! "PRICELESS" considering, back in 1941, a first class letter cost 3cents to mail. So, whatever they received, was short 1 cent, but they paid 3 cents to send that letter requesting reimbursement, and J.A. would have had to pay a minimum of 3 cents to return it. In today's money, about 20 times the price,  that would be paying 58 cents postage to get 20 cents back. Even today, someone who was really in charge should have questioned the reasoning behind that request.

Add to that the clerical costs involved with typing and mailing the request.

I was tought at a young age, and I repeat myself often (way to much I’m told) “take care of the pennies and the dollars take care of themselves”

Notice it was “Urgent reply” was that to avoid another bill cycle with interest!
